Michael K.

Tech Concierge, Serving Westchester

Michael is a life long techie. From watching his Dad operate an IBM 360 mainframe in the early 70’s to now helping his son 3D print in his bedroom, Michael has seen a little bit of everything. He has many years of experience helping people with their technology. His favorite thing to do is helping people learn to get more from their technology.

Michael has been a professional musician for the last 25 years. He has played in many Broadway theaters, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

Zain I.

Senior Tech Concierge

Zain is an Apple Certified Mac Technician and has spent many years as an Apple Genius. Zain has a computer science degree with a concentration in Database Management. He has been an English instructor and is the youngest board member of the Executive Board of Tau Kappa Epsilon.

Helping his 89 year old Father-in-Law, who has profound hearing loss, connect his hearing aids to his iPad via Bluetooth so he can hear shows on Netflix and YouTube and FaceTime with all his kids and grandkids.

Zain’s Favorite Candoo Moment
Helping out my grandma by setting up “smart lights” so the path to the bathroom is lit up at night which will hopefully help her avoid falling. Now with the tap of an icon on my family’s phones, we can set the light for her.

Johnnie Q.

Tech Concierge

Q, as Johnnie likes to be called, is a seasoned tech veteran who's been involved in IT is some way, shape or form since the mid 1990s. He is A+ and Network+ certified and earned a Cisco Certified Network Administrator certification in 2012. Before getting into tech, Q also worked as a Union certified Journeyman Electrician for over 15 years. He is a graduate of Brooklyn College (CUNY) and holds degrees in History and Philosophy. He is fluent in Spanish and enjoys working with seniors.

Alex A.

Tech Concierge

Alex has over 10 years of experience with technology and has worked with some of the most talented people on the globe at Apple, Lyft and Paul Weiss, one of the premier law firms. Alex began working at Apple in high school, where he remained for 7 years. He became an Apple Genius and Apple Certified Technician.

Alex has lived in five different cities and two different countries. He has a passion for sports, technology, accessibility needs, kids and older adults.

Steven R.

Tech Concierge

Steven has over 3 years experience as a help desk technician. He began his career providing support to employees and clients at Cerebral Palsy of Westchester, where he provided patient advice and support to teach people how to use new software and hardware. He also provided tech support for New Heights Academy Charter School. Steven has learned so much from his clients about how important technology is to improve our daily lives. Steven is a proud graduate of Per Scholas and received his A+ certification.

Ben is a network engineer with over 10 years of IT and tech support experience. He is A+. Network+, and Security+ certified. He is passionate about helping people improve their lives and homes with technology, especially those with accessibility needs. He is a graduate of Muhlenberg College and holds degrees in Neuroscience and Public Health. Ben is an avid skier and scuba diver and enjoys traveling.

Our Story

Candoo Tech provides tech support and training specifically designed to help older adults use technology to stay safe, secure and engaged. We provide tech support and lessons for devices and software applications--from phones, iPads and tablets, Alexa and computers to innovative home sensors and fall detection devices.

I’ve experienced first-hand the frustration that my parents have felt dealing with technology. My dad was what they call an “early adopter”. He was the first person to buy the latest gadget, newest computer, phone and watch. He lived next door to a computer store and the sales guys knew him by name! My mom is a “technophobe”. She would still be using an electric typewriter if she could, but she’s still working with lots of Millenials and now tweets, podcasts, posts on Facebook and is finally learning to Facetime her granddaughter.

As they got older, I was getting more calls with tech questions. From the simple (“I forgot my password”) to the more complicated (the printer isn’t working, the Wi-Fi isn’t on, I’m not getting my emails) to the latest “Alexa has gone out of town” (Check out the actual voicemail from my dad).

For adult children and caregivers like me, Candoo gives us the confidence to know that our loved ones are getting the support they need to make their lives easier and more productive.

So, I hope that Candoo helps you and your family feel empowered to use technology to make your lives more enjoyable. You can do it!
