Candoo Customer Spotlight: Helping Carole and Albert Improve Tech Accessibility
When Carole’s and Albert’s son gifted them a Candoo Tech membership, it opened the door for them to gain confidence with technology, something that hadn’t come easily to the couple, both in their 80s. Both were facing common challenges, especially around vision and accessibility, which made daily digital tasks like reading emails or managing appointments feel overwhelming.
That’s where Candoo Tech stepped in.
Over a series of sessions, Candoo’s team worked with Carole and Albert to make their devices easier to use and better suited to their needs. A U.S. based Tech Concierge enabled Spoken Content, Dictation, and Zoom features so they could listen to text being read aloud and enlarged small fonts with a simple command. We customized font sizes, brightness levels, and contrast settings, and turned on Dark Mode to reduce screen glare.
When Carole found Apple Calendar difficult to read, we installed Google Calendar with a larger font and simplified interface. We also supported both Carole and Albert in navigating health-related platforms, like MyChart, resetting passwords, and setting reminders for upcoming appointments.
Throughout the process, they embraced learning even when it was tough.
