Candoo Tech Joins Techstars Future of Longevity Accelerator
I first heard about the Techstars Future of Longevity Accelerator, in partnership with Pivotal Ventures, an investment and incubation company created by Melinda Gates, last year. I’ve heard how great the Techstars program is—over 2,000 startups have gone through their accelerators and over 85% are active or have been acquired. I wanted to apply, but the program was in Washington, D.C. and my team and I were in New York. I couldn’t do it. Then COVIDl-19 hit, we got extra busy moving from in-person visits to remote tech support in March and soon we were serving clients nationwide. When Techstars announced that the program would be virtual, I applied, went through a tough interview and application process and finally, got a call from the program leads with one final question. I braced myself for a tough one, thinking I needed to be ready with a detailed answer. The question: “How would you like to be part of our first cohort of the Future of Longevity Accelerator?” That was an easy answer, “Yes!”.
We kicked off last month with 9 other remarkable companies, all providing innovative solutions to solve problems around aging and caregiving. First step—choose our mentors. We each presented to almost 100 mentors—fantastic entrepreneurs, industry leaders and experts in their fields who were giving their time and commitment to us for the next three months. We are finalizing our mentors now and will be working hard for the next few months to continue to grow and scale our businesses.
December 9th is Demo Day. Stay tuned for updates throughout the program.
